Art Week: Focus on the Basics of Sketching and Drawing
Get back to the basics and spend some time with good ol’ pencil and paper. Join us for a week of focused attention on art skills inspired by the humble pencil. We will start with the basics and work towards our final project: a still life drawing. We will encourage confidence and risk taking as we develop on new or existing skills; we will focus on how to see the world ‘as an artist’.
Day 1: Mark making, contour line drawings, principles of shading/texture
Day 2: A focus on: positive and negative space, examining light
Day 3: Shapes, shadows and proportions
Day 4: Still life: final project
Cost: $175 per participant
Age: 12-14
Space for 4 participants
